BassistLeeWhitsel ees on emit gnolI haven’t properly posted anything on us for about 3 months, but not because a thing or two hasn’t been happening. While the month of May was rotten for me in a lot of ways, there were a few silver linings in that I was able to work on new material with Jason Bowden and right around that same time my niece Ngozi was born.
In June we had a great show at the Cave with Hendecatope opening for us, which turned out to be a first with Ana Mitchell and a last with Jj Kidder and Kirk Bryson.
Since I had already been working with Jay, we had actually decided to make a go of it as Wedlock along with Ana and Baxter Smith. As it turned out, by July, Baxter had turned me on to his flatmate and bassist Lee Whitsel.Lee runs a studio and production company called Cinderhouse Music. Jay Bowden and I agreed to record under Wonderball, and to continue with the releases of the singles from Exogamy.Jay is a prolific talent as a producer and remixer and I was really pleased with the way the recordings turned out. We began rehearsing for shows after we reformed as Allgood, Mitchell,Smith and Whitsel and our new sound has started to come together ever since.
Lynnanne Fowle and I are still reworking the play for “Inextricable,” and it will likely be performed in winter or spring of 2009. So that’s about the shape and size of the last three months in the life of Wedlock.
