THE TOPIC OF HOT TOPIC

I hate hot weather, and it's going to be that way again at Jordan Lake on the 28th, 5pm.The logistics for doing a show in the mall are a real challenge. It was f&#*@^! bananas! But once we started playing, we seemed to forget all about it for awhile.I loved that people would pass by and peek inside to see what was going on because they heard music coming from the shop. It was awesome. It reminded me of the Schoolkid's show we did last year.Shops are fun. They played our record in-store too, and that never hurts. Now Hot Topic has Exogamy in it also.So yeah, it was a haul for load in and break down but our performance felt good to me, and people came in and liked what we were doing. Thanks to Jessica Vavra for having us, Christopher Jackson for filming, Julie Johnston for the photography, and Lee and Baxter for dealing with such an unusual place to play for an electropop sounding band.Next one is at the Preserve At Jordan Lake on the 28th, which is Sunday, 5pm.Then we're finishing off Continuity.
Thanks,
Paul/Wedlock

NEUFUTUR BLURB ON BLACK SUNDRESS

Wedlock – Black Sundress (Single)

“Black Sundress” is the latest single by Wedlock, and long-time readers of NeuFutur will remember our review of Wedlock’s last single “Reverend Charisma” -http://neufutur.com/?p=6628 This track showcases significant evolution by Wedlock, giving listeners a different facet of the band.

There is a classic sound broached by Wedlock here, ensnaring fans of earlier musical styles. However, rather than reveling in this older style, Wedlock is careful to go forth and keep things contemporary. This makes “Black Sundress” into a single that is fundamentally different from anything else that is currently on the market.

Take on “Reverend Charisma” and “Black Sundress”; I can guarantee that you will still have no clue where the band will go with their next release, be it single, EP, or full length. That is the strongest side of Wedlock, and why exactly they will continue to grow in fame until that time when they are a household name. So, if you are a fan of the aforementioned “Black Sundress”, check Wedlock out live at the Hot Topic at the Cary Towne Center (Cary, North Carolina) June 26th; I feel that they will be as amazing as they are on this track.

I LOVE THE THEATRE

Friday,June 5th, Cary Players put on their spring edition plays and yikes, I nearly missed it!Our turnout for the winter plays was modest compared to this one, and when I arrived.I found out that they had turned away almost 20 people(60 max capacity) who wanted to come upstairs and see the shows! I was nearly going to be one of them had it not been for my writing partner Lynanne actually coming down and saying something. I know every room and building(especially in a place like Cary) has a
f&*^$@_% fire code of some sort; but that woman acted like some kind of a "seat nazi." It was all kinds of ridiculous, actually. So once inside; it was hot-but not just the room-the staged readings were also.
